Extra… Extra… the online profile

You may be curious how my adventure as a background artist signed to Industry Casting is taking shape…

After being registered with the agency on 16th August the next stage was the photoshoot for their website. However Industry have to adhere to allowing a 30 day cooling off period before they can create your online profile. This means they do not arrange for your photographs to be taken for this profile until 30 days have passed from your initial registration.

On Sunday 18th September I had the necessary portrait shots taken.

I am really pleased with my online profile and both the pictures they have chosen. When I get organised I will send a disk to Industry and they will provide me with a copy of all the shots from my photoshoot.

I have still not been offered any bookings. I believe this is partly due to the obligatory cooling off period and also because my availability has been limited mainly due to my am dram adventure.

I am hoping that now my profile is online and my time is less restricted my adventure as an Extra will now get some wings… I will of course keep you posted…

Thanks to Zazzle for their tee shirt image above please check out their website to help me say thank-you.

Extra… Extra… the Photoshoot

You may be wondering how my adventure as a background artist signed to Industry Casting is progressing…

After being registered with the agency on 16th August the next stage was the photoshoot for their website. However Industry have to adhere to allowing a 30 day cooling off period before they can create your online profile. This means they do not arrange for your photographs to be taken for this profile until 30 days have passed from your initial registration.

On Sunday I finally went to have the necessary portrait shots taken. As I am unaccustomed to posing for studio portrait shots I felt quite self-conscious. The photographer seemed well practised at giving direction which was just as well because I didn’t have a clue. I don’t like smiling on photos as I think I can look a bit goofy. But the photographer cajoled me into to some smiley shots by asking me to say ‘hi’.

I am curious to see what the pictures look like and which two pictures Industry choose for my web profile page. If I send a disk to Industry they will provide me with a copy of all the shots.

As I have not you been offered any bookings I am hoping once my profile goes online that my adventure as an Extra will finally start to unfold… I will keep you posted…

Lucy Brown & Benefit: The Interview

It looks like my adventure with Benefit could have some legs.

Today at 5pm I attended the interview. They asked some challenging questions I had to think really hard to answer them, but answer them I did.

The outcome of the interview is that I am going to be working for them part-time for a minimum of 7 hours. I requested part-time not only for reasons of work/family life balance but also so that I can pursue my other career interests paid and unpaid.

Benefit were fortunately happy to work round my PADOS rehearsal schedule, I’m playing Vera in Willy Russell’s Breezeblock Park. You may recall I was also signed to a background artists (extras) agency this week. I remain interested in doula-ing and baby massage instructing too.

I feel very proud of myself to have got through Benefit’s challenging 3 stage recruitment process. The next stage in the Benefit process is store approval.

I will keep you updated as my Benefit Tale develops… woo hoo I’m very nearly a BeneBabe!

Extra… Extra… Read all about it

You may recall one of my promised adventures was to get signed as an Extra. Well I am thrilled to announce as of today I now have an agent. I have today been registered with Industry Casting and I promise to keep you updated with my adventures as a background artist. I will of course be discreet, and not disclose any future story lines or comment about any of the actors on set, in compliance with Industry Castings Terms and Conditions of Business. The next steps are: to get some bookings and in 30 days time I get my pictures professionally taken for their website… exciting times…

Welcome to the Crazy World of Lucy Brown

I am Lucy Brown. I will be embarking on some new adventures over the next few weeks and months. These adventures include taking on the role of Vera, a very dim, likeable, down to earth Liverpudlian 35-45 year old, in the PADOS (Prestwich Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society) production of Willy Russell’s Breezeblock Park, trying out as a Benefit Beauty Consultant and hopefully getting signed to Industry Casting agency for paid work as an Extra.

I am happily married to a wonderful man we have two children together and three cats.  Sadly my oldest cat Turtle has recently lost her sight due to high blood pressure but she is otherwise in good health for a cat of her age.

I am also supposed to be concentrating on working towards self-employment as a Doula, Baby Massage Instructor and Parenting Coach although recent experiences have knocked my confidence and drive in these areas and I feel more drawn to the exciting new adventures mentioned above at this time.
