Lucy Brown Slimming Down Day 1/ Day 2

Perhaps you are wondering how the rest of my first day went? Perhaps your not? I’m going to tell you anyway ๐Ÿ˜‰

When we last spoke I’d had my first Exante shake it was strawberry flavour and I enjoyed it, I poured it into a champers glass for nicer presentation and was pleasantly surprised with how palatable it was. Shame the same can’t be said for the thai chicken soup. I made it up as per the instructions but unfortunately the texture of the soup made it akin to drinking a hot thai chicken milkshake, it didn’t make me gag but, I did have to force it down. I will make it more diluted next time and see if that improves the experience. Put off by the soup I decided to opt for chocolate milkshake as my third and final ‘meal’ of the day. Found it disappointing… it just wan’t chocolatey enough!

I did a little more exercise, school run pick up (this time without the Cello as Sienna had decided to leave it at school) – 20 mins.

I also had another couple of herbal teas & a nightcap of a decaf expresso shot. I went to bed feeling very hungry indeed!!!

Woke this morning feeling cheerful ๐Ÿ™‚ only one more day of horrid shakes then I can eat food for 5 days :-D. Did the school run again (20 mins) and realised my energy levels are low so I had to ย drag myself to yoga today (90 mins). That now makes 3 exercise classes so far this week! Where I think I was previously averaging one a fortnight.

I sneakily weighed myself again this morning (I know I shouldn’t have but…) anyway I was pleased to see I weigh 3lbs lighter than yesterday (probably all water!). But it’s encouraging to feel I’m on the right track.

Breakfast this morning was the banana milkshake, again lovingly served in a champers glass. My verdict on the banana? Considerably preferable to the chocolate, but the strawberry is my definitely my favourite so far. If anyone else had tried the Exante shakes & soups I’d be interested to hear your comments below. Does anyone know if you can make muffins & mousses etc. out of them like you can with some other VLCDs?

I’ve just enjoyed another coffee shot… fullcaf this time & I’ve got a couple of herbal teas (a teapigs white tea & a fennel tea) to keep me going until I try another soup before college later this afternoon.

It feels good to have taken control and have started this slimming down journey. I am hoping that I can continue with the 5:2 ratio as a lifestyle choice, maybe eventually switch to 6:1 when I reach my goal dress size 14. When the shakes and soups run out I plan to also switch to healthy real food on fast days with some careful forward planning. I am hoping by then I will have slimmed down enough to inspire me to have the necessary discipline on diet days.

Having 2 weddings coming up is also motivating me. My sister and a close friend are both getting married in July. I already own a suitable frock… I will try it on later to see if it fits, whether it does or it doesn’t I am certain it will look better on a slimmed down Lucy Brown ๐Ÿ™‚

    I have been doing the 5:2 for a while now – it is much better if you separate your fast days – much more manageable that way! x
